Made to be is a multifandom fandom zine focused on shipping your lovely OCs with the canon characters you love with the theming of seasons. We’ll be covering all four of them as equally as possible.We will be accepting multiple fandoms and we want to make clear that we are not associated with any of them. We are just here to have a good time!This will be a sfw free digital release when it is done.

rules and Guidelines for applicants
Must have a reference of the OC of choice - ideally drawn, but written will be accepted as well.For the sake of respecting celebrities' personal lives, we ask that you do not pitch celebrities/RPF/IRL creators for this project.
We will only accept fictional characters.All applicants must be 16+ before April 30th to apply for this zine.You do not need previous zine experience to be part of this project, but you will need a portfolio we can access.
If we cannot see your portfolio, we will automatically disqualify you.All works must be crafted specifically for this zine. We will not accept older pieces or current wips you are working on as pitches.Though we will accept as many people as possible, we are realistically going to keep it around 10 writers, 30 artists, 3 alt creators and 5 merch applicants.Mods can remove you from the project for breaking any of our guidelines, especially for plagiarism and AI related content.ARTIST
All art for this zine must be 300 PX, A4 RBG. All pieces must be completed by the final deadline.Please make your pitches clear, concise, and the characters you are using clear.We are looking for artists that understand colour, rendering, and anatomy! Backgrounds will be required.There will be the additional role of spot artists. This will be for people that do want to draw for the zine but do not have an OC/Canon ship or just want to draw a few well polished small pieces.WRITERS
All writing for this zine must be 2k or less for prose, poetry, and any articles you plan on creating. All pieces must be completed by the final deadline. There will be a beta reading phrase after the final draft to check for mostly formatting and grammatical errors.When submitting your portfolio, please have three stories that are 2k words or less. One must be a complete piece. Do not only link your Ao3 profile page. We would like the direct examples you are spotlighting. Thank you.We are looking for writers that have a basic concept on grammar, pacing, and dynamics of the ship that are intriguing.MERCH ARTIST
All this merch will be digital only.Please have an example of your merch examples. We will be considering many types of merch: as long as we can create it digitally!We are looking for merch artists that have created merch before. It will all be digital.Please show your speciality of merch and any potential ideas you may have.

Heya, I'm Freyja! I'm an avid OC x Canon lover, as well as general OC enthusiast! I've worked on multiple zines as both a mod (writing, head, shipping, organization, comms... that kind of area) and a writer. I love character design and have spent quite a bit on OC comms and prints/personal-use charms lol- English major with a Creative Writing minor (+ Sociology)! OCs have always been something I've loved since I found out what they were in middle school and I have been making and developing and loving them since; I love using them to explore themes personal and close to me, as well as shoving them with canon characters haha.

Yes.Can I create NSFW?
In your own time, do what you please. In this project, no.Can I have a minor OC shipped with an adult canon character or vice versa?
No. We want the OC/Canon couples to be in the same age range. We understand that some media does handle this differently, like Dungeon Meshi with the different races, but we will look at each situation and world building accordingly.Does my OC need a reference?
Yes, they do. It can be written or drawn. We are going to be judging applications partially on the OC presented to us.Is this an open submission zine?
No, we will be having our applicants apply. We will accept as many people as we can realistically handle.Can I use an avatar (akin to a Fire Emblem Protagonist) as an OC?
No, because characters like Corrin and Robin are still canon characters. Though you can base your characters off of the avatar, we do want to see your creative spark shine.Are familial and platonic relationships allowed?
Though we absolutely love this concept, this project is based on romantic interaction.
